The story
The resort is built into a steep cliff above the Aegean, and the architecture takes its cue from the rock. According to the hotel, the Cave Suites embrace the area's raw aesthetic, while the range runs from Wave Suites and Lofts up to Sunset Villas and Grand Summer Houses, several with their own private infinity pools. The design language is what the hotel calls Bohemian chic, aesthetics paired with a spiritual slant.
Two infinity saltwater pools, indoor and outdoor, anchor the wellness side, alongside a spa with sauna and steam bath, a fitness centre and a Yoga Shala. Dining spreads across three rooms: Cremnos for Greek, Mediterranean and international plates through the day; Umi, open for dinner, pairing Chinese and Peruvian cooking; and Eleonas, a grill for private dining. Breakfast comes continental, buffet or à la carte, with vegetarian and gluten-free choices.
Heraklion International Airport is roughly 15 to 17 miles away, with a shuttle service and free on-site parking; the centre of Agia Pelagia is about 2,950 feet on foot, and the nearest beach around 150 feet down. This suits couples after quiet and self-directed wellness. Note it is strictly adults-only, cribs and extra beds are not available, and cash is the accepted payment method — families and card-only travellers should look elsewhere.
