The story

The hotel lives inside a carefully renovated old building in Chania's historic centre, and its age shapes the experience throughout. Nearly every room sits on the first floor and there is no elevator, so the building's original proportions and stonework stay intact. Rooms range across four categories, from a Suite with City View to Deluxe and Superior Suites facing the sea, each finished with character rather than uniformity.

Wellness runs to a sauna, a fitness centre, yoga classes and massage — full body, back or foot. Breakfast changes with the calendar: from 1 November to 31 March it arrives at your door as a packaged meal between 09:00 and 11:00, a detail worth knowing if you visit in the quieter months. Reception keeps limited hours, open 9:00 to 16:00.

Location is the property's clearest asset. The Folklore Museum and Mitropoleos Square sit 120 m (400 ft) away, the Etz Hayyim Synagogue 300 m (1,000 ft), and Firkas Fortress 500 m (1,650 ft). Nea Chora Beach is just over 1 km (0.6 mi) on foot, with Chania International Airport 13 km (8 mi) out and a shuttle available. Best suited to travellers who want the old town's landmarks at their doorstep.
