The story
Seven villas sit low against the slope, shaped to follow the land rather than interrupt it. The property describes the technique as 'invisible architecture', built on bioclimatic principles for near-zero energy use; no single architect is named. The 2021 build has since been renovated. Three single-floor villas — Heve, Ourania and Sun — hold one double bedroom, a sofa-bed living room and an open-plan kitchen, while Aura, Iris and Tyche add a second room and a second bathroom.
Every villa comes with a 28 sq m private pool, heatable from April through November for €50 a day. There is a full kitchen, laundry and private parking in each. The wellness centre offers a hamam and massage, from full-body to couples and foot treatments, and a fitness room. Yoga and cooking classes run on site, hosted by Pinelopi Grigoraki, connected to the Yoga Plus ashtanga centre in St. Paul, Rethymnon.
The setting is deliberately remote: 58 km south of Rethymnon, near Cape Melissa, reached by mountain road through Sachtouria. Heraklion airport is about 87 km (54 mi) away and a hire car is genuinely necessary. The nearest beach lies about 100 m off; Prasonisi Beach is 2.6 km (1.6 mi) and the Agios Pavlos Sand Dunes 3.1 km (1.9 mi). A precise, quiet retreat for those who want distance from everything.
