The story

A small property with thirteen rooms, Elounda Stories keeps its scale intentionally intimate. The hotel's own site describes light-filled rooms and suites shaped for a clean, contemporary look, and the accommodation ladder runs from the Premium Room through several Junior Suites to a Premium Two Bedroom Suite. Air-conditioning, private bathrooms and free WiFi come as standard; certain suites add an outdoor jetted tub set on the terrace.

The building sits a few metres from the waters of Mirabello Bay, according to the hotel, and a seasonal outdoor pool anchors the day, with a fitness centre and massage on request. Reception runs around the clock through an in-room tablet, and the hotel notes local treats and drinks waiting on arrival. Breakfast comes Continental or buffet.

Elounda town centre is 500 m (1,650 ft) away, with the main beach a 15-minute walk at 1.3 km (0.8 mi). Heraklion International Airport lies 60 km (37 mi) off, so a transfer or hire car makes sense. Free private parking sits about 100 m (330 ft) from the door. A well-placed base for a walkable Cretan stay.
