The story
The building reads as an extension of the shoreline. The hotel describes the resort as appearing to sprout from the waves, tying together rock, water, greenery and wood, and the low, sea-facing forms carry that idea through. Renovated in 2025, it runs seasonally from 1 June to 31 October, with 50 suites and two rooms designed for guests with special needs — though note there are no lifts.
Suites come with balconies and sea views, soundproofing, minibars and bathrobes; the higher categories add outdoor hydromassage tubs, and a few have an individual private pool. Dining splits between a Greek and international buffet restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, and an à la carte kitchen open for brunch, lunch and dinner, both with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Wellness stretches across a spa with sauna and relaxation lounge, two pools, yoga studio and a wooden gym the hotel calls state-of-the-art.
The beach sits 46 m (50 yd) away, with the centre of Adelianos Kampos 107 m (117 yd) off and Platanes Beach 1.1 km (0.7 mi) along the coast. Rethymno's historic centre and Fortezza Castle are roughly 7.2 km (4.5 mi) and 8 km (5 mi) away; both airports, Heraklion and Chania, are 72 km (45 mi). A composed, grown-up base by the sea.
