The story
The building runs low and close to the shoreline at Misiria, and the design leans into that setting. The hotel's site describes interiors and exteriors drawn from the natural elements — light, water, earth — with each suite conceived as its own space rather than a repeated template. Materials and layout are meant to connect guests to the surroundings, according to the hotel.
The one-bedroom suites carry their character in the water: some have a private outdoor jacuzzi, others a private pool, several with sea views from the balcony. Each has a kitchenette with coffee machine, kettle and kitchenware, air-conditioning and soundproofing. There is no restaurant; instead breakfast arrives at the room, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and the terrace and garden face an outdoor pool that can be heated on request.
The beach is 150 m (150 ft) away, a short walk. Rethymno town centre lies 4.2 km (2.6 mi) off, with the Venetian Harbour at 4.9 km and Fortezza Castle at 5.8 km (3.6 mi); Chania airport is 71 km (44 mi) and Heraklion 76 km (47 mi), with a paid shuttle available.
