What guests say

  • Guests return to the olive-grove setting again and again, praising the privacy of bungalows spaced among the trees and the calm that comes with no children on the property.
  • Breakfast draws consistent praise, often served outdoors beneath the olive trees, with reviewers singling out organic ingredients and the quality of what arrives on the plate.
  • The warmth of owners Martin and Maleine comes up repeatedly, along with resident cat Freddy, and many guests note this is a second or third visit.
  • Several reviewers describe the night sky here as "stunning", pointing to clear stargazing and open views across the surrounding countryside.

The story

The plan reads like a small hamlet. Eleven bungalows — Deluxe, Superior and standard — sit scattered through a secluded olive grove, each paired with its own tree, so no unit faces another head-on. At the centre stands a 600-year-old olive, the resort's so-called village square, the point the whole layout radiates from.

Rooms come in three tiers, and one bungalow is built specifically for wheelchair users, with a lowered bathroom sink, grab rails and Braille aids. A saltwater infinity pool has a shallow end for easing in; the spa house adds a sauna whose garden, the hotel says, dissolves into the surrounding landscape. Taverna O Mikros Kosmos serves Greek dinners, with vegetarian and vegan options, plus a coffee shop and outdoor seating.

The setting is rural south Crete: Phaistos lies 6.6 km (4.1 mi) away, Heraklion airport 59 km (36.7 mi), with a shuttle and free garage parking on site. A quiet, grown-up base for slow days near the coast.
